Voices from the customers who bought Toshiba Thrive
Reviews for the Toshiba Thrive 10" have been very positive in terms of speed and functionality. The system is sprightly and responsive thanks to its superb hardware, and the stock configuration of the Honeycomb operating system provides seamless and smooth interaction for the user. Though a bit thicker and heavier than some tablets, the Thrive makes up for it with its power and versatility. The battery will provide anywhere from 6 to 10 hours of operation depending on your usage, which isn’t bad considering the computing horsepower the Toshiba Thrive manages to pack under the hood.
I like it:
- Overall, a great tablet for the money. Like others have mentioned, it is a little thicker and heavier than the competition but being able to replace the battery and the back cover (two of the most likely components to be worn down) for small money is worth the extra weight.
- This tablet seems to be the most versatile tablet so far. The full size SD, and USB as well as HDMI ports let you do things you just can’t do with the Ipad 2. The file manager tops it off! You can move things around and gives support for 128 gig SD card! Also, this thing is really fast and smooth and the screen fits HD and movies well. The color screen is bright and sharp but perhaps a tad behind the color of my friends Ipad 2
- Also, the easily removable back and battery make this thing like a cross-over to lap-top kind of tablet! I think Toshiba has a winner here!
- Everything works perfectly. No glitches, issues or problems of any kind. The build quality is 10/10 and Honeycomb works on this platform 10/10. Everything is excellent and I am very, very pleased that I waited for this tablet for reasons you all know. This tablet has it all.
- I’ve had it now for 3 weeks and could not be happier. I have not found a single issue with the Thrive. I wish there were more apps for Android tablets, but I am patient.
- It is a feature rich tablet which includes: a full size SD memory card slot, a full size HDMI port, and a full size USB port. It is very fast and responsive.
- I could have kept this tablet. I just love everything about it: full size usb, full size SD, full size HDMI, Rubberized back, nice screen ( not IPS not definitely comparable ), USB on the side instead of at the bottom like the upcoming thinkpad tablet; screen rotation lock comes handy and system indication lights could be useful at times. NTFS support would be really fantastic .
- I did my homework and I’m not disappointed at all. This is a great tablet for people like me that hate "Apple Jail". My kids don’t want to put it down but my wife makes them.
Kind of Annoyance:
- Few tablet specific apps vs ipad
- The screen isn’t as pretty as some of the other tablets out there.
- A bit heavy and thicker than others – I don’t care for the power button (too hard to turn on &off) battery is OK but not as good as the I pad – I had one issue where ot got hung up and I had to pop the battery to reset.
